Microsoft should really give software away to schools for free, rather than punish them for having pirated software. If students are taught to use Microsoft products from an early age, they would be less likely to switch over to another product (it would involve relearning things, people are lazy). You have to give some to get some. This is going to drive schools even closer to free open-source products. It’s not that I’m pro-Microsoft, anti open-source, but as a student without much background in economics, it just seems like a really stupid business model.
