I went and saw American Splendor with Dave on saturday afternoon. It was at the Screening Room downtown. For those that haven’t been, it’s akin to watching something on a really big television, but lower quality. The theatre has an endearing quality to it though.
I saw the trailer for the movie a few days ago and decided that I wanted to see it when it came out. Coincidentally, it showed up at the Screening Room last weekend. The movie is about the life of Harvey Pekar, in a pseudo-documentary/biography sort of way. There was a bunch of different techniques used to give it a more authentic feel, mainly some white screen things while the real Harvey is narrating the movie. Basically, he creates a comic book series based on his life and illustrated by his friend Robert Crumb. It was a little bit different than I expected, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I recommend going to see it.
The keyboard is important, so I had to rush out and buy one this morning. It was the only time that I was going to be able to get it today, well maybe after five. I also realized that my keyboard held two of my usb ports and that I now really need to purchase a usb hub. Anyway, I decided not to go with the cordless variety of keyboard (you should really have a wired one around all the time as backup). I picked up a
