Bit of a pisser of

Bit of a pisser of a day yesterday; test in the morning and two interviews for positions that I didn’t get. The first interview was a followup to one of the ones I had on sunday. It came down to me and a guy I know, we were both equally qualified but they ended up giving it to him because he had a bit more experience with kids. It is kind of nice to know that it wasn’t something bad you said or did in the interview to not get the job, must not have been easy. The other interview was for golden words business manager. Once again, pretty equal footing and it didn’t work out. It is kind of good, it’ll mean a bit less work next year. I’ll go for staff writer, concentrate on that side of things and maybe make a run for ed next year.

I started out liking this

I started out liking this article that points out that people shouldn’t feel they’re stupid because they can’t use a computer. But, he ended it off with the cd-drawer being a cup-holder joke. I want to punch the author in the mouth for regurgitating such a stale joke. The point it is, the analogy between plumbing and computers is good, the article is not.

Lots of work and fun

Lots of work and fun stuff to do. I have another logic test tomorrow morning. The wednesday morning logic test, every two weeks without fail. I dislike the morning. I’ve discovered my best marks this year and last have been for afternoon classes. Is it a coincidence? I’ll never know.

Two job interviews, one went

Two job interviews, one went well, the other not so well. I enjoyed the first one and thought it went well, one of the girls is in my english class, they seemed like good people. The second one; I’ve already received notice that I won’t have a second interview. It was a group interview, i didn’t get the right impression from the people interviewing and think that I sabotaged it subconciously. Ever done that? Looking back, it seems like i stabbed myself in the foot on that interview. I did some things you’re not supposed to do in interviews and knew that I was doing it and didn’t really care.

Fun stuff. I was originally going to run for editor of golden words next year but changed my mind. I’m going to go for business manager instead. I’m going to be around two more years, so I’ll go for ed next time around. It’s the last year for two of the guys running and I feel that they’d do a good job with the paper, well better than I would at this point. I spent most of the day at the paper (and doing the interviews), I think there’s at least a couple of my articles going in for wednesday. More fodder for the writing section.

This article is one of the best pieces regarding the current state of the music industry that I have ever read. One of the first relatively intelligent and informed pieces that I’ve read. The gist of things: mainstream news site with the author saying that people are starting to get pissed off at the top forty crap being shoved down there throats and that we’re starting to get a generation of kids who expect music to be free.

I went to bed nice

I went to bed nice and late last night (decided it was more important to put up a music section than sleep), causing me to sleep through my morning classes. Some afternoon class and the rest of it installing windows xp onto Rachel’s computer, kind of boring, but I probably would have wasted a couple hours on my computer anyway.

A general question; what do

A general question; what do you want to see? Why have you come here? A regular? Just passing through? Are you here for some daily reading, to look at pictures, do you want more writing? The return of fonts and wallpaper? A few songs for download perhaps, weird shit. Hmm, it’s deffinitely a good idea to get a bunch of projects started during the last month of the semester. Avoid work at all cost.
