An article entitled beer, school and multiplayer gaming. It sounds too familiar.

Some new software releases today, we have a new version of napster out (beta 8), personally i liked somewhere around beta 2-4 the best, i’ve found the recent ones to be kind of shitty. Also have Seti@home ver 3 out, i haven’t used this since 1. something. It’s good to test out how well your computer functions at full processor load.

It will now cost money to use scour. Wow, there’s a really smart business model if I ever saw one! People used scour because they could get movies, music and games for free. Now if they build in copyright management, if that’s even possible. Why would anyone want to pay for a service where they can only trade stuff that’s not copyrighted? Hey, do you want to download my family pictures or that short stort my nephew wrote? That’s what email and instant messaging is for, I can’t see this plan lasting.

Been sifting through some of my old bookmarks at home, found goatee style again. Ryan redesigned at some point, don’t know when but it looks pretty slick all the same.
Went out to the mall
Went out to the mall a few hours ago to try and get some christmas shopping done. It was around the standard dinner hours, so there wasn’t as many people there. I succeeded in buying gifts for most of my family members, there’s still a couple left though. I also picked up a few books for myself; The Art of War – Sun Tzu, The Beach – Alex Garland and Lolita – Vladimir Nabokov. The cd’s that i ordered a week ago from mymusic.ca came in today, I haven’t listened to both of them all the way through yet. The company used bazooka joe gum for packing material and gave me free shipping for the next order.
A new concept for a
A new concept for a calender. This one actually makes sense, although the likelyhood of itt being implemented are next to nothing. Things like the calender are just too ingrained in society to be easily changable. Why does the US not use the metric system even though it’s much simpler to understand? It’s not so a pride thing as trying to reteach 300 million people. As far as the calender goes, that would only mean reteaching a few billion.
I’ve been watching a lot
I’ve been watching a lot of movies lately, that seems to be what I do a lot of during christmas break every year. Last night was Pitch Black. Deffinitely a rental movie, it wasn’t all that bad, it just seems more like a B movie that you’d rent rather than paying to see it at a theatre. There were some pretty cool parts to the movie, but there were also some really predictable parts to it as well.
Drove up to ottawa with
Drove up to ottawa with a friend tonight to go see a movie. We paid to watch Dude, where’s my car? but we only lasted in there for about 15 minutes. They managed to show just about all of the preview in the first 10 minutes. The preview was funnier and more to the point. I know the two guys were supposed to be stupid, but they were completed fucking idiots. Every line had to be repeated at least 5 times. It wears on you and ends up not being funny at all. We ended up seeing What Women Want, which is a decent movie, better than the other one anyway. The first hour was damn funny, but it kind of deteriorated from there, turning into a sappy date movie, they probably could have done more with it. Overall, it wasn’t that bad, anyway you look at it, the movie was still better than dude, where’s my car?
Didn’t really do much of
Didn’t really do much of anything yesterday, I guess that’s one of the nice parts about being done exams and being home. There’s nothing really required of you, well beyond the typical household stuff. Watched Ghost Dog last night. It’s a decent movie, a little slow moving at times and it would probably mean more to someone who was actually a samurai. There’s some underlying concepts to it, about having a code to live by, be it whatever you follow.
Rented the skulls last night.
Rented the skulls last night. It was an ok movie, wasn’t great though. I found it flipped around a lot, showing you what it might be like to be in a secret society, in terms of getting gifts but never really elaborating on any particular point. Some of the character development is a bit on the poor side, maybe you just don’t see any of the people long enough to feel anything for them. Here I am sounding like an english major. High school english will do it to you to, damn.
